Kitchen Design Tip

I'm always being asked for kitchen design tips.  

If you are lucky enough to be able to design your kitchen from the start or do a total rennovation - don't do an L-shaped layout.  Instead, design a free-standing center island.

There are many advantages to having an island. Apart from opening up the kitchen and giving you more space to have people gather around, an island also provides easier access in and around the kitchen.  Instead of having one way in or out, an island makes it easier for multiple people to work in the space.

Islands are great and they make a kitchen look more updated.
