Urban Rustic

There is nothing "rustic" about the trend of Urban Rustic.

Im not talking about Colorado log furniture.  I'm talking about refined, exquisite pieces of wood converted into luxury dining tables and unique pieces of art.  Wood dripped in silver to create one of a kind side tables.   Reclaimed old pieces of American Walnut converted into beds that feel primitive, modern, masculine  and elegant. Urban Rustic is all about the warmth of wood worked into skillful contemporary, unique pieces of art.

It all starts with finding the perfect slabs of  wood and selecting the best ones to be worked on. These hand selected slabs are then hand honed and waxed to create a soft texture and feel very unlike machine made furniture.  Each piece is unique and no two pieces are identical since the wood slabs dictate the shapes.  Mixed with contemporary furniture, these pieces of art create spectacular combinations making a room look warm, unique and found.

One of my current favorite manufacturers of this style is Hudson Furniture.  Their showroom in NYC is fantastic and is a great place to indulge into amazing.
